Rekha, the lady who redefined the tag of 'Bollywood heroine' in many ways during 80’s and 90’s and she continues to do that till now when she has turned 63.

1. Ghar (1978)
Directed by Manik Chatterjee, the movie stars Rekha alongside Vinod Mehra. The film is about a young couple who have to deal with the circumstances after rape and assault. Rekha performance in the film is a masterclass and hence, were lauded by all critics.
2. Kalyug (1981)
Directed by Shyam Benegal, Kalyug is the modern-day version of the Indian epic Mahabharat. The film star Shashi Kapoor, Rekha, Raj Babbar, Supriya Pathak, Anant Nag, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sushma Seth, Akash Khurana, Victor Bannerjee, Reema Lagoo, and A.K. Hangal played in major roles.
3. Khubsoorat (1980)
Directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, this is one of the most pleasant films that you can watch anytime you are feeling sad. Rekha won the 1981 Filmfare Best Movie Award for the movie and it was later remade in Tamil as Lakshmi Vandhachu, in Malayalam as Vannu Kandu Keezhadakki and very recently Bollywood has remade the movie with Sonam Kapoor in the lead.
4. Silsila (1981)
Directed by Yash Chopra, this movie is complex in many ways. Silsila stars Rekha, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, the storyline of the movie hints towards their rumoured off-screen relationship equations of the trio.
5. Umrao Jaan (1981)
Same year Umrao Jaan released too directed by Muzaffar Ali. This is a period film where Rekha plays the courtesan Umrao Jaan Ada and her performance fetched her the National Award with this film.
