Ayan Mukherji’s three part fantasy superhero drama ‘Brahmastra’ has been generating a lot of hype ever since it was announced. Firstly, the scale and concept attracted the cine-goers, and then they were happy that someone as talented as Ayan is handling the project and finally when the lovebirds Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor were roped in for the film, the hype touched sky.
The film was initially slated to release on Independence Day 2019 but looks like we will have to wait a little more to watch this mammoth of a film on big screens. As per the latest development, the film has been shifted for a Christmas 2019 release.

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is producing the film, on Tuesday tweeted a poster which read: "Brahmastra' now releasing on Christmas 2019.”
He captioned the image: "Part 1! 'Brahmastra', Christmas 2019, Dharma Movies written and directed by Ayan Mukerji."
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">PART 1!!!! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/BRAHMASTRA?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#BRAHMASTRA</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/CHRISTMAS2019?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#CHRISTMAS2019</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/DharmaMovies?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@DharmaMovies</a> written and directed by AYAN MUKERJI <a href="https://t.co/1z4nObXybS">pic.twitter.com/1z4nObXybS</a></p>— Karan Johar (@karanjohar) <a href="https://twitter.com/karanjohar/status/1062240232760840192?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 13, 2018</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Reports suggest that a lot of post-production work has to be done and the makers don’t want to hurry, they will take time to give a nuanced product, thus they have shifted the release. Other theories also suggest that the film has been shifted because 15th August has been booked by John Abraham’s ‘Batla House’, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Mangal Abhiyaan’ and Rajkumar Rao’s ‘Made In China’, thus they did not want their huge film to get fewer screens as this might affect the business.

Now, Brahmastra will clash with Salman Khan’s ‘Kick 2’. Brahmastra stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles.
