The 35- year old Mithali Raj spoke in a controversy surrounding ICCI women world cup following the selection of playing eleven in the team.The controversy which is not a week ago has however hit the social media. There are basically 2 viewpoints which are arising from this controversy.

On one side is management which includes coach, selection team including captain Harmanpreet who was called a “manipulative, lying, immature, undeserving captain”. According to them the decision to keep Mithali out of the team was correct and there was nothing wrong as it was taken keeping in mind Antigua pitch factor in the first semi-final between Australia and West Indies earlier and winning combination in the backdrop of their good performance in their previous match against Australia.

However, Mithali Raj feels that the selection process was not at all fair and she questioned whether “my services to India are of any value to a few people in power who are out to destroy me and break my confidence.”

Earlier her coach alleged that she has threated Mithali threatened retirement over the batting position in the middle of an international tournament and also threw tantrums during the recently concluded competition.
