Royal Enfield needs no introduction; it’s a living beast and the love of many die-hard bikers out there. Now, one more jewel has been added to its crown as Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 has been bestowed with the honour of ‘Indian Motorcycle Of The Year’.
The slick machine had to race past the likes of Yamaha YZF R15 V3 and TVS Apache RR 310 to fetch the title on its side.
The Interceptor was always touted to be one of the best products produced by Enfield Corp. This time the company went ahead to embrace the change and used many advanced technologies. The bike is really pocket-friendly if one wants to own a twin cylinder bike at an affordable price.
Available in colour options such as Orange Crush, Mark Three Black, Silver Spectre, Ravishing Red, Baker Express White & Red, and Glitter & Dust Chrome, the bike costs around INR 2.50 lakh and comes with a three-year warranty.
The monster bike is built on double cradle steel tubular chassis developed by Harris Performance while the all-new 648 cc parallel-twin air/oil cooled engine develops 47 bhp and 52 Nm. It comes with a flat seat, upright handlebars and slightly rear set footpegs with higher fuel tank capacity. It runs on 18-inch spoked aluminium wheels wrapped in Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp rubber.
The best thing is that the bike is connected to Royal Enfield’s first ever slip assist clutch.
