No sooner did the trailer of Thackeray and The Accidental Prime Minister dropped, than the whole nation went berserk relating it to some political agenda or election schemes. With the onset of the two bold trailers, we can now see a promising future ahead of Bollywood. Finally, the masses would now get a proper insight into the political game, at least, we can hope so!
‘Thackeray’ is one undaunted move by Bollywood. The biopic on the founder of Shiv Sena, Bal Thackeray was one of the most awaited movies of all time. The character of this controversial leader is being played by none other than the veteran actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and we are already startled by the uncanny resemblance between Nawaz and the late Bal Thackeray. Cradled in scandal and controversy, this movie is set to break the screen on January 25th, 2019.
Just when the public went gaga over Thackeray, there dropped the contentious trailer, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ that makes us ponder over the bravest move the makers made by uttering direct names of the real politicians behind the plot and not subtly but directly producing the entire scenario of the most influential national party of India. The legendary actor Anupam Kher as former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has adapted everything on point. Right from his looks to the gestures and also the voice, bingo! The plot is narrated by Akshaye Khanna’s character, Sanjaya Baru, who acted as the former Prime Ministers media advisor from 2004-2008.
The only respite that came in was with ‘Ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga’ that subtly brought in the beautiful drama surrounding the story of a girl who cannot express her real self because of her conservative family. Love doesn’t only involve a guy and a girl, it doesn’t necessarily have to be between straights. The tremendous appreciation that the trailer fetched has proved that our country is now moving towards liberalism and wide acceptance of truth in the true sense.
