Andy Murray – one name that changed the course of Tennis single-handedly. The legendary player who has won 2 Olympic gold medals has finally bid adieu to the game because of his unavoidable hip injury.
The man lost the game to Roberto Bautista Agut and in his farewell speech, Murray said: "If this was my last match, as you say, it was an amazing way to end the game, but it wasn't enough tonight so congratulations to Roberto ... Maybe I'll see you again. I'll do everything possible to try. If I do, I'll need like a big operation and there are no guarantees to come back from it anyway. But I'll give it my best shot."
Andy said that he is hopeful that he’ll come back, he said: ‘If I want to go again, I’ll need to have a big operation which there is no guarantee I’ll be able to come from. But I’ll give my best shot.”
Andy did not forget to mention all the people who showered their love on him and made him what he is today, he said: “Thanks to my team, my fans, my friends and family who are here supporting me and everyone who has contributed in my career.”
Andy Murray did not win the last match of his career but he surely won hearts and the legend’s legacy will forever linger in the tennis courts.
