While we are progressing as a society, there are still misconceived notions we have around women who were sexually assaulted. Instead of blaming the man, society asks the woman if they did anything to provoke the mishap. The clothes they were wearing often comes under question, because we live in a culture of ‘victim blaming’. However, this does not explain why even babies or women wearing a traditional hijab have been incident to rape.

To counter such myths, an exhibition by Centre Communautaire Maritime in Brussels was held, which displayed the various clothing items worn by women at the time of rape. This exhibition hopes to ascertain the fact a victim's choice of clothing can never be the reason for assault.

The clothing times featured in it include trackpants, pyjamas and even a child's My Little Pony's shirt to drive home that a woman is never responsible for mitigating the circumstance.

The clothes were procured from a victim's support group, CAW East Brabant on loan. The exhibition was held in January 2018.
