KL Rahul, after his much controversial ‘Coffee’ fiasco returned to the pitch to play for ‘India A’ but he isn’t getting any luck here as well. He has been scoring low and in the recent match he got out for a golden duck in the fifth one-dayer against England Lions. However, Rahul Dravid, former Indian batsman and current coach for India A backs up the young gun and said that he is a good player as not many batsmen have scored tons in all three formats of the game.
Dravid said: "He (KL) got a good first ball today as it seamed. I have no doubt that he has got quality and ability. He is playing four-day games as well and he has shown that he can succeed at the international level in all three formats, he has got a hundred in T20, ODI and Test and not many batsmen have that record. He is a proven performer and I am not too worried about his form."
Dravid was also asked to comment on the team that he is handling, it comprises of players like Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant, Hanuma Vihari and Rahul; Dravid told that this team has players who are expected to be the future of Indian Cricket.
He explained: "India A is always a combination of two things. There's always some players coming in from India (senior national team) and there are some other senior boys selectors want to see. They are looking at players some from a short-term perspective and there are other boys they are looking at medium and long term perspective. India A is a balance of both."
