The brand’s Spring Summer 2019 ad shot and recreated the Pop-singer, Janet Jackson’s iconic 1993 Rolling Stones cover and in the ad Janet Jackson poses topless in just wearing jeans ib bottoms and her breast was covered by the hands of her then-boyfriend, Rene Elizondo. “I love her so much that I don’t want to see any clothes on her,” the designer told British Vogue of Delevingne. “Her gaze is so strong and magnetic, it’s nearly an item of clothing in itself.”
He also speaks on about the point that “even though the campaign images look super sensual, there is nothing flirtatious about them. The campaign shows the reunion of two skin tones, one black — or mixed race — and one white. Posing nude was all about bringing the authenticity. We’re going back to basics: I wanted something pure and transparent.”
Two pictures revealed in the campaign and in one image of the brand’s campaign, Delevingne and Rousteing pose topless. The designer is portrayed standing behind Delevingne and covering her bare breasts with his hands. And, in the second image, the actress is seen entirely naked hiding her breast by posing one hand up in the air and second on her body, reclining in front of a huge B, the logo initially created by Pierre Balmain and relaunched at the end of the 2018 as a part of the brand’s new identity.
After the campaign launched on January 31, 2019, marks the second time Delevingne has signed as a face for Balmain again since she appeared in 2014 alongside Jourdan Dunn, Issa Lish, Kayla Scott, Binx Walton, Jackson Hale and Ysaunny Brito in the fall campaign.
