The dialogue from the iconic Bollywood movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai created quite a stir! Not everyone could grasp it well as to how “pyar, dosti hai”! It might rise a lot of confusion in a person’s mind as to how love be equivalent to friendship. Well, if you look deep into the whole thing you’d know that friendship is nothing without love and oh! What is love even, without friendship?

You cannot claim to be loving someone until he/she has been a friend to you always. Love is the driving force behind every friendship. Friendship involves the basic ethics of love, trust and honesty; anything less would make the whole affair superficial and just a showoff.
Now, it’s a well acquainted fact that love doesn’t happen just in a blink of an eyelid. It takes deep friendship that amount to love. A friendship that connects two souls alike, a bond so sublime that no external force could ever rip it apart.
Now one shouldn’t jump into the conclusion that if you’re friends with someone, you will eventually fall for that person. No, we aren’t preaching that; love doesn’t necessarily have to involve romantic attraction and a sexual drive. Now that’s a different segment. Of course, it’s a definite aspect when you’re head over heels in love and you admit this fact in yourself that you’re romantically attracted to someone no matter if he/she is even your friend.

The logic should be very much clear by now that how love and friendship compliments each other. It happens to be both sides of a coin and without which life has got no significance. Therefore, this Valentine’s Day don’t just think of clinging on to your partners but also remind yourself to spend some time with your friends.
