It was 2010 when the eternal on-screen pair of SRK-Kajol reunited for Karan Johar’s ‘My Name Is Khan’; the film was way too different from what Johar had been making and it left all the cinephiles mesmerized with a nuance storytelling approach. The movie traced the story of Rizwan Khan who suffers from Asperger's syndrome and embarks on a journey to meet the president of America. The movie touched the sensitive issue of racism that the Muslim community had to face after the infamous 9/11 attacks; Shah Rukh Khan won accolades for his performance and his chemistry with Kajol was highly appreciated.

As the film clocks 9 years, Karan Johar took to twitter to express his happiness, he wrote: "#9YearsOfMyNameIsKhan ...I feel so blessed to have been able to tell this story....thank you for creating it @ShibaniWrites ....and thank you @iamsrk for living the role of Rizwan so beautifully and brilliantly... thank you @KajolAtUN for your eyes...your silences and more...."

Actor Varun Dhawan worked as an assistant director on the film and he also shared his happiness, he wrote: "#9YearsOfMNIK a film I learnt soo much on. It practically changed my life. Also this is the only picture I have where @abhivarman is smiling. Thank u @karanjohar."

On the work front, Johar is busy in the making of his next titled ‘Takht’, the film is a period drama and has an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Jahnvi Kapoor.
