Faiz Ahmed Faiz is arguably one of the greatest poets we had on our earth, the man knew the essence of everything; be it longing, love, heartbreaks or social norms, he wrote something for everything. His marvellous pieces of works involve some great verses that transcend time and ages.
Faiz was also nominated for Nobel Prize in Literature and won the Lenin Peace Prize. The man served the British Indian Army and after partition, he became the first editor for The Pakistan Times. After his death in 1984, he was awarded Pakistan’s highest civil award, Nishan-e-Imtiaz, in 1990.
Faiz’s exemplary work played a huge role in developing the artistic sector and lingual of Pakistan; apart from poetry and verses, he also wrote some path-breaking plays that dared to unmask the face of society. Faiz’s influential books were translated into many languages like English, Russian and even Balochi.
