Ranveer Singh’s ‘Gully Boy’ is getting all the praise and whistles, and rightly so the film deserves every bit of it. Everyone involved in the making of the film is getting appreciation but one man, who managed to shine, above all is Siddhant Chaturvedi. The man played a vital role in Gully Boy, his character MC Sher has helped him achieve the title of ‘breakthrough star of 2019’.
Now, in the latest interview, Siddhant revealed how he bagged the role, he said: “The film had already started. They were casting for the film, I didn’t know anything about it.” But as fate had destined, Zoya spotted him dancing on the success bash of Inside Edge (an Amazon Prime show), and approached him and asked, “Who are you?”
Siddhant told her about himself and Zoya advised him to do an audition for ‘Gully Boy’, she asked him to learn about rappers like Divine and Naezy and memorize at least one of their raps, Siddhant says: ‘I was blown away by their talent but couldn’t memorize their raps.’ But, then he realized that Divine writes about his struggles so he stayed up all night and wrote a rap about his personal struggles. He went ahead, gave the audition and the next day he got a call, the call was from Zoya, she said: “Hi, this is Zoya Akhtar, you are on board for Gully Boy.”
Meanwhile, ‘Gully Boy’ is earning big at the ticket window.
