A U.K. woman who was placed into a medically induced coma after complaining of a headache, after when she fainted and admitted to the hospital was reported of suffering from seizures. When she woke up, was shocked after knowing that while in the coma she had given birth to a healthy baby girl. Ebony Stevenson, who told that she didn’t notice any pregnancy symptoms or suspicions that she was pregnant, as she was having her regular periods. Later doctors made it clear that she was actually going through preeclampsia, a life-threatening pregnancy-related condition.
When she was in the ambulance with the doctor and her mother both noticed her swollen tummy, but it was not looking like a common baby bump, and that time they got to know that she was pregnant.
She told that she was regular with her monthly periods, and even though she didn’t have any baby bump. After knowing this we got confused, and I guess you guys are also confused. There is no mystery or any foolish tricks behind, actually, she was born with two uteri and in this the reason that why she didn’t notice any symptom. From one of the two uteri she was having her regular periods, and another one was having her baby girl inside.
“Waking up from a coma to be told I had been pregnant and had given birth to a baby girl was overwhelming, to say the least,” Stevenson, who was also diagnosed with uterus didelphys, which is an inherited oddity that causes females to be born with two uteruses instead of one.
While her mother claimed that “paramedics theorized that the seizure activity moved the baby, making her swollen abdomen noticeable for the first time”.
Stevenson is an 18-year-old teenage girl, and after meeting her baby for the first she was shocked and ask nurses to get the baby off her chest. “Meeting my baby was so surreal,” she told. “It felt like an out of body experience. I worried I wouldn’t bond with my daughter because I had no time to get my head around her arrival, but I think she’s amazing.”
When she woke up her after this shocking news, her mother clarified everything and told that she is born with two uteruses, which made her unaware about her pregnancy. Stevenson said she plans to re-join her college from February and she said: “wouldn’t change what’s happened for the world.”
