5. Only one percent of rainforest plants have been studied for medicinal potential.
Given how appreciated plants can be therapeutically, the rain-forest houses a host of possible cures for sicknesses new and old. This unused resource could still hold the key to medical advances. Of course, a lot of this potential could be lost considering.
