Bhumi Pednekar who started off in the Bollywood industry with the path-breaking ‘Damm Laga Ke Haisha’ is completing 4 years in the industry. She has acted in hit films like ‘Toilet’, ‘Shubh Mangal Saawdhan’ and Netflix’s ‘Lust Stories’. Her upcoming film ‘Sonchiriya’ has garnered a huge buzz and the film is helmed by ‘Udta Punjab’ fame Abhishek Chaubey.
On completing 4 years, Bhumi said: "It’s giving me goosebumps. I’ve always wanted to be an actor as this is the only thing I know how to do but since I don’t belong to a film family, I wasn’t sure. But my parents gave me a good education and the freedom to follow my dreams. Dum Laga Ke Haisha set the ball rolling and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha took it a notch higher. I lost my father a few years ago before I became an actor and today, I think he’s my guardian angel, guiding my career. All the characters I’ve played so far have been diversely different, none of them are from a rich background but they have been rich in emotions."
She will also be seen in Karan Johar’s magnum opus ‘Takht’ and she spilled some beans about the character she is playing, she said: "I can’t talk about it except to say there’s a project in which you will see me be the most modern I can be. Also, in Karan Johar’s Takht, I will look the richest you have seen me. Karan has made me Mughal-rich."
Meanwhile, ‘Sochiriya’ releases on March 1.
