Ning Zetao, a Chinese competitive swimmer took his retirement from the sport on his 26th Birthday. Today, on the 6th of March the world champion swimmer announced his retirement on Weibo. He had won the 100m freestyle at the 2015 Kazan Swimming World Championships. And in the Asian Games, he has been a gold medalist for four times so he is considered a champion. In his country, he is also popular for his looks and that is why he has added a lot of people to his large fan base. Once in the year 2011, he had been suspended for a year as he was tested positive for clenbuterol (a steroid-type drug).

He was expected to do great at the Olympics, but he failed there at Rio 2016 in the 100m freestyle final. Then he was ousted from the team as he violated the rules for the sponsorship in February, 2017. He even failed to qualify in the next year’s world title championship citing an abdominal injury. Seems that these failures might be the reason for his early exit from the game, but once a world champion is always a world champion and that tag will remain with him forever. He brought gold medals in 50 metre freestyle, 4 × 100 metre medley relay, 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay, and 100 metre freestyle.

Ning Zetao wrote, "I have no fear for either the past or the future. Today I want to say goodbye to the swimming pool and start a new chapter in my life…Thank you my dear fans. I wish you the best happiness in your life. The way to success is never easy, push yourself and DO NOT SETTLE!To swimming, to youthfulness," Well, he decided a very specil day for his retirement so no one is going to forget when he retired.
