Detergent brand Surf Excel, known for its heart-warming advertising has released its new campaign for this colourful season of Holi. Titled #RangLaayeSang, loosely translated to colours that bring us together has become a trending topic, probably for the wrong reasons and the group of people have succeeded in trending the hashtag #BoycottSurfExcel on twitter for hurting the religious sentiments of people.

The minute-long advertisement which features a Hindu girl who helps her Muslim friend for going to Namaz sending a beautiful message of religious harmony and highlighting the true spirit of togetherness has been given a new twist of religion by some right-wing ideologists who are perhaps demanding the boycott of Surf Excel.

According to these people, the advertisement not only promotes the concept of Love Jihad but also degrading the colourful festival of Holi by denoting the colours of Holi as ‘ Daag’. These bunch of people also think that Namaz has been given undue importance than the festival of Holi.

The advertisement has surely created a line between two sets of people, one who is loving the advertisement for promoting a beautiful message and the others who are promoting to boycott the product.
