Today, tennis has achieved great heights, thanks to the golden trio of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. These legendary players have showed the world that tennis is in fact one of the most attractive sports out there and we just cannot deny this fact, after seeing their splendor on the court.
And, the best thing is that all three of these players are really fond of each other and never miss a chance to shower some appreciation. In a recent case, Djokovic said: “I am grateful that I’m apart of this era with these two guys. Over the course of the last 10 years, I probably owe it mostly to those two guys and the rivalry I had with them in terms of the improvement and evolution of my game. The rivalry we have forced us to dig deep and understand what it takes to top one another.”
Djokovic’s game was recently graced by the presence of his mentor/idol Pete Sampras, he was asked to comment on the sheer feeling of getting watched by the one you idolize, he said: “Yeah, I have to admit I was a bit nervous. I don’t get to see Pete that often. I was pleasantly surprised to see him watching my match. It’s a thrill, obviously, to see someone that I looked up to when I was a kid. I think I tried too hard in the first set to impress him (laughter). It bounced back against me in a way.”
Djokovic is currently prepping hard for the upcoming tennis tournaments of 2019.
