Karan Johar’s most-awaited film Kalank by Dharma Production house is all set to rock the box-office on 17th April 2019. The official teaser of the film is out today, this lavish film more than an interesting story and locations has one more thing that is going to watch worthy and that is- Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit sharing a common stage in the movie after more than two decades.
The reel-life hit couple has done many successful movies together in 90’s era such as Saajan, Khalnayak, Thandedar, and Ilaka. And now reuniting after so long just and the credits goes to Karan Johar. The Munna Bhai star Sanjay Dutt said that he would like to do more film with his long-time co-star. When Sanjay was asked by the reporters at the teaser launch he said, "It felt good to work together after a long time. I'll try to work more with her."
And when Madhuri was asked she said that reuniting with co-stars with whom she has worked earlier is always enriching. "We are working together after more than 20 years. Recently, I worked with Anil after a long time. It's always wonderful to work with the actors you've worked with before. Even here, it was wonderful," she said.
Kalank features an ensemble cast of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Aditya Roy Kapur. Directed Abhishek Varman, the period-drama is backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and is scheduled to release on April 17.
According to the sources first Sridevi was chosen to do the Madhuri Dixit’s role but as she passed away, the role eventually moved in the hands of Madhuri. "When I was approached to do the role, I had a heavy heart. She was a great artiste and a good human being. When you get a role, you do it your way. But, of course, we used to miss her every day on set. Once you start work, you have to look beyond that and play your character to the best of your abilities." Madhuri said when asked about how she feels of getting Sridevi’s role after she passed away.
