After actor Savi Siddhu’s story came to limelight with Film Companion’s coverage; many of his peer members like Anurag Kashyap and Rajkumar Rao have come out in hi support. Interestingly, Savi was a part of many cult films like ‘Gulaal’, ‘Patiala House’, ‘Paanch’ etc. but after a major life tragedy, he stopped getting roles and eventually he opted for a job of a watchman to earn his livelihood.

In the video made by Film Companion, Savi is seen saying: “It is a 12-hour tough job. It’s a mechanical job. I don’t even have money to buy bus tickets. To watch a film in theatre is like a dream now. My financial condition is not good.”
Rajkumar Rao came out in his support and said: “Very inspired by ur story #SaviSidhu sir. Have always admired ur work in all ur films. Love ur positivity. Will def ask all my casting friends to reach out to u. Thank u @FilmCompanion for sharing his story. Perseverance is the key to overcoming obstacles.”

Anurag Kashyap who has worked with the actor in past also came in support for Savi but he also mentioned that Savi will need to help himself, he is a great actor and he will definitely earn roles for himself as giving roles to an actor out of sympathy is an insult to his talent. He said: “I respect Savi Siddhu as an actor and have cast him thrice when he earned the role. I respect him that he chose to live his life with dignity and picked a job unlike so many entitled out of work actors who have either become alcoholics or wasted themselves away.”

We just hope that Savi’s condition gets better soon and he graces the silver screen one more time.
