Rumours are rife that Dinesh Karthik might get a place in the playing X1 of the World Cup squad but the batsman isn’t worrying about it, instead, he is busy focusing on Indian Premier League.
Kartik said: "The less I think about the World Cup, the better it is for me. The most important thing for me is to do well for KKR and help the team do well. I am sure the World Cup will take care of itself for me. Every IPL is important for a player like me. This year's IPL is no different.”
Kartik also claimed that many people think him as a finisher but he is willing to take any role that favour his team’s victory, he said: "There were a lot of games last year when I ended up batting in the 17th over. But it depends on the situation. Having experienced good things, I can use that experience this time too. But if I get an opportunity to play more overs, it will be an opportunity to showcase my skill."
Karthik also focused on the point that how important bowling department is if someone wants to win a game, he said: "If you want to win the tournament, you need a good all-round bowling attack - both in pace and spin departments. They have to complement each other at different phases of the game. The bowling unit as a whole needs to do well."
