Researchers believe that children who take an excessive snack while watching TV get a higher risk of metabolic syndrome in their body. This conclusion was based on a study conducted on 33,900 teenagers of age 12 to 17 years.

The research found that due to metabolic syndrome, the risk of blood pressure, and high blood sugar and high cholesterol increased in children.


Metabolic syndrome is not a single disease. It happens due to the many diseases occurring together. High blood pressure, high sugar levels, increased cholesterol and obesity, these things together cause the metabolic syndrome.

LDL- low-density lipoproteins or “bad” cholesterol is bad for your health as a high LDL level leads to a buildup of cholesterol in your arteries. If the amount of bad cholesterol in your blood is 150 mg/dl, then the risk of metabolic syndrome increases significantly.


The risk of having the highest metabolic syndrome stays high blood pressure, patients. The normal person’s blood pressure is considered 120/80. If it is higher than this normal level, then you may have metabolic syndrome.


High blood sugar, or hyperglycemia, is a major concern and can affect people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. If the amount of sugar in your body is more than 100 before eating, then you need to be alert. It points to the danger of metabolic syndrome.


Obesity isn’t just a cosmetic concern. This disease leads all the above-mentioned diseases but also to metabolic syndrome. It increases your risk of diseases and health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Excess fat deposited around the abdomen may be a possible cause of metabolic syndrome.
