Kings Eleven Punjab defeated Delhi Capitals by 14 runs in the 13th match of the Indian Premier League at Mohali, Punjab. Delhi Capital showcased how to lose a winning game!!

At one point, Delhi, who was chasing 167 runs for the win, was 137 for 3 in 16 overs. From here, Delhi had to score just 30 runs in 4 overs to win the match with seven wickets in their hand, but in the 17th over, the picture of the match began to change.

First Mohammed Shami dismissed Rishabh Pant (39) and Chris Morris. Then in the 18th over Sam Curran dismissed Colin Ingram (38) and Harshal Patel (0) in three balls to restrict Delhi Capitals.

Then in the 19th over when Shami clean bowled Hanuma Vihari it became clear that there is no chance for Delhi now.

Then in the 20th over Curran took a hat trick by dismissing Kagiso Rabada and Sandeep Lamichhane on the opening two balls of the 20th over and with this Punjab won the match by 14 runs. With this hat trick, Sam Curran became the youngest player to take a hat trick in IPL.

To everyone astonishment in the last 17 balls, Delhi lost 7 wickets for 8 runs. And this major downfall dipped Delhi to Mohali. For obvious reason, Sam Curran was given Match of the Match award.

One interesting fact:
It’s been 9 years that Delhi has won a match in Mohali stadium. Last time when Delhi won the match was on 13th March 2010.

Till now Delhi and Punjab have played 23 matches out of which 7 matches were played in Mohali. Out of those 7 matches, Delhi has only won 1 match rest every match Delhi have lost.

Moving on to Punjab batting. David Miller and Sarfaraz Khan made maximum runs for the team. David Miller scored 43 runs and Sarfaraz Khan scored 39 runs and together they made 62 runs partnership for the 4th wicket.

Delhi innings started with a shock as star performer of the Delhi Vs Kolkata match Prithvi Shaw returned to the pavilion without even scoring any runs.

The responsibility of taking Delhi to victory was on the shoulders of Rishabh Pant and Colin Ingram.

Colin Ingram and Rishabh Pant played well. Pant made 39 runs off 26 balls while Ingram made 38 runs off 29 balls. But their stunning inning was not able to save Delhi from the hurricane named Curran.
