Houseplants are the best way to brighten up your home, and you can use it as the option for interior decoration for your house and kitchen area. Apart from maintaining a good atmosphere and decoration, many plants also have added benefits such as removing toxins from the air or adding an all-natural aromatic fragrance to bathrooms and kitchens.

When it comes to expelling the January blues, indoor plants can be obliging too. For example, pacifying Aloe Vera plant can be applied to sore winter skin, while sleep-enhancing lavender will relief a restful night, and bloat-beating mint helps stressed-out stomachs. If you have animals at home, plants in your house also make a good environment for them as well.

1) Soothing Aloe Vera

This cactus-like plant is easy to grow as it thrives indoors, you can plant it near your entrance, or on the terrace. The Aloe Vera leaves special soothing gel that makes your skin calm, and various studies have shown that if you have wounded, it will help in soothing that too. Aloe Vera plant has antibacterial compounds called anthraquinones which are responsible for minimizing contagion. You can apply its gel on your face, body, and hair, you can even drink the pure Aloe Vera juice too, and it is also very much beneficial.

2) Calming Lemon Balm

The lemon balm plant (Melissa officinalis) is from the mint plant family, the plants give beautiful lemony aroma. It has conventionally been used to recover reasoning as well as reduce stress and anxiety. Studies have shown that supplementation with lemon balm helps people by inducing the sense of calmness in them, which is the best remedy for the people who are fighting with anxiety problems.

3) Sleep-Improving Lavender

Lavender is the plant which is used in many places, especially in spa and salons because its fragrance makes people’s mind calm. When it comes to getting a more restful night's sleep, lavender smell’s works best. In fact, research has shown enhancements in sleep quality in those who are struggling with stress and insomnia, with effects being seen from both oral supplements and aromatherapy.
