In our daily lives, when we are late the clock ticks faster, and when we are waiting for something then the time stops. We all have experienced such a thing in our lives, and it is something that happens all the time as it is time and emotion-related. Suppose you are getting late for work, at that moment if you will check the clock then you will see that the minutes are passing like seconds and that is really frustrating. But when you are waiting for something, at that time you will feel like the time has stopped and seconds are passing like minutes. This really feels like some magic, actually, in this case, it feels like black magic that the universe does to us for ruining things.
But as we all know that nothing like the clock ticking faster or going slower happens in reality. Then why does it feel like it? Well, this is all because of our brain. When we are late, then all that the brain thinks about is ‘I’m getting late’ x n times and when we are waiting for something then all it thinks about is ‘It’s getting late’ x n times, so that is what makes the brain perceive the timing according to it. So, when you are late then you are so much engrossed with getting ready, or concentrating on the speed of the vehicle and the traffic that the 60 seconds pass with you mind working continuously during that time period.
We can really not do anything about this as it comes as human nature, but some of the people get control over it with the help of meditation. But we are already getting late, how can we even think of getting the time to meditate? No matter what logic we find behind this, but the universe definitely plots against us to make us get late by setting us in traffic and also by making us wait by delaying the metro of the friend we have to meet.
