The bad news apparently just won’t stop for Chipotle. The Middles for Disease Controland Prevention (CDC) announced yet another outburst of food poisoning linked to therestaurants in December 2015. Five people fell ill at the end of November due to E. colibacteria, after consumption at Chipotle locations in Oklahoma, Kansas and NorthDakota. The new cases seem to be unconnected to another E. coli outbreak that began back inOctober and disgusted at least 53 people in nine states. That one led the Mexicanrestaurant chain to close 43 restaurants in Oregon and Washington for deep washing.
Rendering to the CDC, the newest outbreak is due to a different strain of E. coli.Norovirus brings many of the same signs of E. coli, but if you’ve been sick, you’ll feelthe effects rather, within 12 to 48 hours as opposite to about a week for E. coli.Norovirus also runs its course faster than E. coli; you can imagine to feel better in one tothree days. People get the virus by eating dirty food, touching a contaminated surface orstraight from an infected person.According to the CDC, about 265,000 cases of E. coli linked to foodborne disease hitthe U.S. each year. Mainly vulnerable are young children and the elderly becausethey’re at larger danger of emerging a serious type of kidney injury.
Even though E. coli is a bacterium, it’s not generally treated with antibiotics becausethey can raise the danger of  hemolytic uremic syndrome  (HUS). Ask your doctor beforetaking anti-diarrhea medications since these could also growth the risk of HUS.If you become sick, drink water and let it run its course. If you have bloody stool, get tothe doctor. When you eat out, you’re at the mercy of the restaurant, trusting it to make your foodproperly.
One of the best ways to stop E. coli is to cook at home, with proper foodprep.  Cook meat carefully ;  wash fruits and veggies ; have distinct cutting boards forvegetables and diverse types of meat and wash your knives after each use. Always besure to  wash your hands  after using the washroom.
