TikTok, which facilitates creating of small entertainment videos through the app, has removed over 60million videos in India. The company says that it has removed videos that have violated its communityrules since July last year. In a statement, the company said, "This is part of efforts to make its users feelsafe and comfortable. In addition, Tiktok tries to empower them by giving the right things within society.
Apart from this, children above the age of 13 years will be able to use the Tiktok app. For this, thecompany has made a different scale. The company says that this is an additional security standard sothat younger users cannot use this app.
Also, Madras High Court has already ordered the Central Government to ban this app while hearing acase on Tik Tok a few days ago. The court had found that there are many objectionable videos on thisapp, which are not right for children.
Helena Lerch, director of Tiktok (Global Public Policy) said, "Security is one of the top priorities for theTiktok. With these steps, we will reassure our Indian users the commitment to keep their platform safeand positive. "
