As we know Indian cinema and Indian television serials both have some difference and some similarity as well. Though the stars of these two world share many things common, they are stars, inspire their fans, they have good acting skills, live high-lifestyle and so on. But still, there is a lot of difference in a movie and serial.

After having more similarities and fewer differences, still, their choices differ, why so? Bollywood actors such as Sushant, Salman Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar, Vivek Oberoi and etc are happing turning old in their reel life, to fulfill the need of the story, while we have talented T.V actors who are not ready to get old on screen. Do you know why? Let me tell you.

Actually, last week I read the interview in which TV actresses Nia Sharam and Drashti Dhami and many other young actresses are not ready to get old in their serial. And again I saw the news on the same topic – “Getting Old On Screen” but this time it is about Bollywood stars, and I found that Bollywood actors are pretty comfortable in getting old in their films.

What is the reason behind this and why TV stars don’t want to get old?

If you go through the storyline of the movies, movies have a valid reason if a character is being shown in an old character. the story has a brief description, for example, Salman Khan in his up-coming movie- Bharat, will be shown as playing the character of a 70-year-old man, in reality, he is just 53 years old. As the movie is about Salman Khan’s character who lived through seven decades.

Similarly, there are so many movies you can find in the Bollywood in which movies’ main character have to get old on screen because the story is going through their life from a young age to old age, and the makers cannot change the face of the lead role just because of the age. To show the age on the face our industry has good makeup artists.

However, in the TV serials, these things matter a lot, because any serial never run for a year, and moreover they don’t have a single storyline, instead, a previous plot decides what will happen next. And TV serials show the story of the day to day life, so they take leaps and runs for many years. And when a serial is taking a leap, it means that actors have to get old and it will for a longer time, so actors denied the project. And this is the reason why makers keep on changing the faces of the main lead.
