Remember the old vulture bird from the Ramayana? , That king of vultures who sacrificed his life to fight the Ravana. Who can forget the contribution the bird made? You might recall how the vulture was old and week but when he saw that Sita Mata was in trouble he tried saving her from the Ravana.

Commemorating the significant cultural ties, the world’s largest Islamic country Indonesia has released first ever stamped on the theme of Ramayana which recites the same Ramayana scene for the very first time. The stamp speaks the brave tale of Jatayu when he tried saving the Sita.

He is also a recipient of highest civilian honours in India- the Padma awards, which he received in 2018.

The stamp which was released on the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties with India will be kept on display at the Philately Museum in Jakarta. The event was held on Tuesday in the presence of India’s Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat and Indonesia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abdurrahman Mohammad Fachir.

The stamp which signifies the resolve of two people during the time of hardship is considered the significant step in the relations of two countries as well.
