With this victory, Chennai’s team reached the top of the points table. For the first time in this season, Chennai's run-rate saw a positive surge. Delhi team is in second place with 16 points in 13 matches.
Imran Tahir was the most successful bowler from Chennai. He took 4 wickets for 12 runs. This was his best performance in this tournament. Tahir took 4 wickets in a match for the second time in the season. Earlier, on 14 April, he had taken 4 wickets in the match against Kolkata on 27 runs at Eden Gardens.
Ravindra Jadeja took 3/9 in 3 his overs for Chennai. He also showed good hand during Chennai’s batting. Jadeja scored 25 runs off 10 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. Besides Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh and Deepak Chahar took 1-1 wickets each.
Delhi's captain Shreyas Iyer was the top scorer of his team. He scored 44 runs off 31 balls. Apart from them, Shikhar Dhawan scored 19 runs from 13 balls. Apart from these two, none of the team’s batsmen reached double digits. Chris Morris returned the pavilion without opening an account. Colin Ingram and Trent Bolt scored 1-1.
Raina hit 8 fours and a six in his 37 balls innings. He completed his half-century in 34 balls. This is his second in this season and 37th in the IPL. In the matter of hitting the maximum half-century in IPL, he reached the second spot with Shikhar Dhawan.
