As it happened with the fine century of Shikhar Dhawan India was able to put the team with maximum number for world cup titles to the defeat, making India’s second consecutive win in the world cu Undoubtedly the confidence of Team India is on seventh heaven and it looks pretty much confident to lift the trophy. India’s win against Australia has definitely increased its chances of winning the world cup 2019 and history also points out the similar chances of winning the world cup.

Here is what statistics indicate about India’s probability of winning the 12th edition of the world cup:

Out of 11 faces offs in the world cup India has been able to manage its win in 3 matches. In 1983, India scored a total of 247 runs in 55.5 runs and defeated the Aussies by 118 runs. In the same year India also created the history by lifting the world cup trophy under Kapil Dev.

2011- India v/s Australia-

In 2011, in a second quarter final match Australia gave a target of 246 runs and India successfully won the match by 5 wickets and the similar pattern was observed in 2011 as well. India won the world cup after 28 years under the Dhoni captaincy.

2019- India v/s Australia-

In 2019, India beat Australia by 36 runs in its 2nd match. India’s grand total helped India to win the match easily. So does that mean India can repeat the same history? Will India once again lift the world cup?

What do you think? Will a similar pattern be followed this year? Will India win the 12th edition of the world cup?
