The Gorgeous Deepika Padukone who is apparently known for her glamour and elegance is once again stealing everyone’s heart with her ravishing looks at Time 100 Gala in Manhattan, New York. The way she carried herself in the white decorative sari gown is making us bereft of speech. Moreover, her reverence towards the country is clearly shown in her ‘Namaste’ pose, keeping up the merit of India. She is chosen as one of the 100 people honored by the magazine this year in their 100 Most Influential list and she truly deserves it.
This beautiful outfit that she is wearing is by famous designer Anamika Khanna. The entire dress is bedecked with thread and tiny pearls on satin fabric, whereas, on the side slit area we can see a floral array. Also the long cape behind exaggerated the whole look even more. Walking on the red carpet, the graceful actress came with a delightful smile on her face and her hand joint in ‘Namaste’.
Here we have a collection of this golden angel posing with poise and style
Amid the ceremony when she was about to give her speech, a voice came from the crowd saying, “You’re so beautiful!” and the lady in reply thanked him with her precious smile.
She narrated her experiences from her past days when she was a pray to depression, how she fought with it and again revived as a happy human being. Here’s her speech:
“February 15th, 2014, I remember waking up that morning with a strange pittish feeling in my stomach. I had no idea what I was feeling. Life all of a sudden just felt meaningless and there were days when I just wanted to give up. And couple of weeks later I was diagnosed with clinical depression.
Four years on I stand here in front of all of you with a slightly better understanding, I think, of life and my feelings and the person that I am, but I feel like more importantly, I think all of you will agree with me when I say that we’re going through some pretty challenging times all around the world.
And so I want to raise a toast to every man and every woman and every child around the world that is faced with some sort of challenge every single day, but you do it with a smile, and I want to say that your power and your strength and your courage encourages me to go on every single day. And for the some of us I think who do think of giving up once in a while, I want you to know that we’re all in this together, and most importantly that there is hope, because in the words of Stephen Fry, “We’ll be sunny one day.” Thank you.
When asked about her next film by her fans, she remarked, “soon”. Deepika Padukone's next project has been lingered on as her co-star Irrfan Khan is going to his treatment in abroad.
