Nitin Gadkari, being the Union Minister and a BJP member has consoled about the fact that how pen and paper can take away someone’s reputation completely. He discloses the fact that once “Balasaheb Thackeray once told me Sanjay Dutt was completely innocent.”
At an event where he was promoting 30 singers in Nagpur on Sunday, he was asked if he has seen the film ‘Sanju’ and turns out, he had a lot to say about the film. The BJP minister says “I have seen the film. It’s a beautiful film. It shows how certain perception in the media, police and judiciary can adversely affect someone. It had severely disturbed the lives of both Sunil Dutt and his son Sanjay.”
He also took a notice on how many are still describing Sanjay Dutt as a “traitor” and questioning about the intention, the film was made. In this issue, he has put his words profoundly, “power of pen can be more destructive than an atom bomb” and “how certain perception in the media, police and judiciary, can adversely affect someone”.
Gadkari spoke about an incident were Balasaheb Thackeray told him that, “Sanjay Dutt was completely innocent. I always say that the media should be extra careful when it is writing about any bank or any individual. It takes a lot of effort and hardship to shape up a life of distinction, but it takes little to destroy it.”
Sanjay Dutt was arrested in 1993 for the charges of possessing an AK-56 rifle. In this, he was charged under Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act and Arms Act but many raised eyebrows to his loyalty towards the country.
