Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju is shattering records at the box office and with its rising success questions are being raised on the film. While some are busy praising Ranbir for his exceptional acting style and the way he portrayed Sanju, some are busy in loving the father-son bond that has been portrayed in the movie, the friendship that has been shown and there are some that are busy thinking that this movie is nothing but an attempt to whitewash Sanjay Dutt’s image.

Even a section of critics has also criticized the movie by claiming that it is a sure sure act of whitewashing Dutt’s image that has many black marks on it. Some people accused the director of Sanju, Rajkumar Hirani claiming that Hirani made this film to portray Sanjay Dutt as a victim who made many mistakes in his life but is a good person by heart.

Sanjay Dutt didn’t speak anything regarding these accusations for very long but finally, he spoke on it. Sanjay rubbished all these accusations and said that an amount of 30-40 crore was too much to be spent on whitewashing someone’s image.

Sanjay while talking to leading daily said, "I just want to say that Munna Bhai was already made, that avatar was already out. I don't think anyone would spend Rs 30-40 crore to change his image. That is too much of an amount. I have told the truth and the truth has been accepted by India, and the box office collection shows that." Dutt also added that he is very happy that others are learning from his mistakes.
When Sanjay was asked if the real Sanjay Dutt is portrayed in the movie, the actor said that he is not and never was a dark person. "Why do you think so many people love me? There is nothing dark about me. Growing up the way I did - it was no different than a usual teenager or youngster.mThere was nothing special about being Mr. Sunil Dutt's son. I made mistakes - a little more. I even went to jail for it which I don't regret."

Meanwhile, the movie is playing its magic at the box office and is racing towards Rs 300 crore. The real Sanju will be soon seen in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3.
