Of late many actors and actresses are coming out in the open about the dark secrets of casting couch and the revelations are really shocking. In the past many of the popular names in the industry from Ranveer Singh, Ayushmaan Khurrana to Kalki Koechlin have talked about the horror stories of facing casting couch. Now, Aditi Rao Hydari has come out in the open to speak about her facing casting couch in the industry.
Aditi Rao Hydari has slowly and steadily gained fame with her credible work in Bollywood starting from ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’ to ‘Padmaavat’. Currently, after Sri Reddy’s case, the topic about “casting couch” has shot up yet again. In her chat with The Sunday Guardian, she talked about the harsh reality and the critical demands of the industry.
The ‘Bhumi’ actress spoke, “I have also been in this situation but I was able to stand up to it, make my decision and move away. I did lose work and I cried about it. I didn’t regret it but I cried about it because I felt so upset that this was true and this is how girls are treated. I was like, how dare someone to speak to me like that!”
The gorgeous actress then spoke about the trauma she went through after the incident, “For about eight months [after the incident] I didn’t get work, but I feel that decision made me stronger in my intention about the kind of work I wanted to do. The year 2013 was difficult for me as it was also the year I lost my father but from 2014 onwards everything kind of fell into place. Sometimes you need to see a situation, deal with it, get out and be very comfortable with it, and that’s how I felt. You need to be comfortable with the consequences and have no regrets.”
Fortunately, Aditi is a rock solid woman who faced the hurdles and still broke the glass ceiling and became successful. We are glad that she has achieved this amount of stardom!
After her role of Mehrunisa in ‘Padmaavat’, she is busy working with Mani Ratnam yet again on his next project.
