Janhvi Kapoor who recently entered B-town with her first movie Dhadak, opposite Ishaan Khatter. She has received lots of praises from the Bollywood celebs. Only one film old, Janhvi has already made a big fan base, she has been on the cover of Vogue magazine and has even walked the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week.
Janhvi has even got her second film which is also under Karan Johar’s banner and is titled, Takht. Karan is also introducing three more actresses with his movies. Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria will also be entering Bollywood soon with Karan Johar. While Annaya and Tara will enter Bollywood with Karan’s Student of The Year 2, Sara will mark her debut with Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh.
During an interview with a leading daily, Janhvi was questioned about the competition with her contemporaries.
“I don’t know why everyone is pitting us against each other. I guess people enjoy doing that. Competition is a bad thing if you make it sound that way.”
She also said that the question was being asked in a very sexist tone,
“It’s also odd because I think you only pit women against each other. Why is no one asking Ishaan the same question — if he’s feeling the sting of competition, too! People love pitting women against each other. But in reality, we can be happy and celebrate each other’s success. It’s easy to co-exist, if you are doing a good job.”
She said she is excited to see their movies,
“As an audience member, I’m excited to see Sara, Ananya and Tara. I haven’t interacted with Tara, but I have spoken to Sara and Ananya and they’re so full of life.”
She praised her contemporaries,
“They are amazing people and I’m excited to see them on screen because I’m sure they will be magic. It’s good to see so much new talent coming into the industry. Both Sara and Ananya spoke to me once the promos of Dhadak were out. They are sweet.”
