The director of the cult film, Rajkumar Hirani was attending an event in Mumbai where he expressed that he never thought Nawaz to do so good in the industry. He said: "He acted really well and I told him that 'Nawaz, you are a very good actor'. But in my head, I never thought that Nawazuddin Siddiqui would become such a huge actor that he is today."
He was speaking at an interactive session titled 'Indian Film and Television Directors' Association (IFTDA) in Mumbai.
Nawaz is an alumnus of National School Of Drama and he grabbed eyeballs with his thunderous performances in the notable films that came in the year 2012. These films were Kahaani, Gangs Of Wasseypur 1 and 2 and Talash.
After this he featured in a string of films that were critically and commercially successful, some of these films were Bajrangi Bhaijaan, MOM, Badlapur and Raees.
Currently, he is basking the success of his web series ‘Sacred Games’ where he played the character of Ganesh Gaitonde. He is also awaiting the release of his much-awaited film ‘Manto’ which is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nandita Das, the film is a biopic drama on controversial writer Sadat Hassan Manto’s life.
