Popular Indo-Canadian actor Lisa Ray took to her Instagram handle to break a joyful news of her becoming a mother to twins Sufi and Soleli, who were born via surrogacy. Lisa wrote that she and her husband Jason are hoping that their step would end the stigma related to surrogacy process.
“Jason and I have chosen to share the intimate story of our surrogacy journey as a way to normalize and embrace fertility possibilities for everyone. It’s not easy but achievable. Takes a village, and I am grateful for all your love and support (I’m going to be leaning on some of you for mama night outs and baby-sitting backup as I complete my book),”she quoted.
Lisa was shot to fame by appearing in the famous Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s ‘Afreen’ music video. She then went on to star in critically acclaimed movies like ‘Kasoor’ and ‘Water’.
Her career was going fine but then all of a sudden she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2009. She was cured from her cancer in 2010, but in 2012 she relapsed. She had quoted in an interview: “Most people don’t even know that I relapsed. But I’m too stubborn to be fearful. Okay, I won’t say that I’m not fearful, but I consider fear a passing emotion.”
Reportedly, the couple had tried for surrogacy in India but failed, then they tried their luck in Mexico but everything went in vain and finally they found the ray of light in Georgia. And, after the process, Lisa and Jason are proud parents of two really beautiful children.
